What’s the TTR World Snowboard Tour?

After a get-together of interested brand representatives, professional riders and event organizers (amongst others also Andrew Hourmont, founder of the Air & Style Company), the Ticket to Ride (TTR) World Snowboard Tour was established by Terje Haakonsen in 2002.

Concentrated on the riders to convey progressive snowboarding, the organisation isn’t geared to make profit.
The Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour unifies important independent snowboard events – more than 100 events for men and more than 50 for women at this time. The contests, categorized by a 1 to 6star system, are in a time-frame of 10 months on the northern and southern hemisphere. From this season on the Billabong Air & Style 09 is also a 6star event and so one of the six biggest contests in this format worldwide.

The determinate criteria on which the accreditation of the Swatch TTR stars is based you can read on www.ttrworldtour.com.

Actual news about the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour you can find here.

How does it work with that credit points?

Every participant, no matter if amateur or pro, can score important points at the events to get a position on the Swatch TTR World Ranking List. The participance at a 6star event is stated as highest one and there can be fetched up to 1.000 Swatch TTR points.

To calculate the points and so the placement on the Swatch TTR World Ranking List the best seven results of one rider in one season are summed up and divided by seven. If one rider has less than seven results his points of the season are summed even so and divided by seven to create the final placement on the ranking list.

How the riders are judged at the Billabong Air & Style 09 you can read here.

At the last 6star events of the season calendar the male and female rider with the best average of the seven results is crowned to the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion.

The following event formats are attributing Swatch TTR points:
Slopestyle (SS), Halfpipe (HP), Quarterpipe (QP), Big Air (BA) and other special formats, whereas one snowboard contest can also have more than one event format.
All formats processes the same values of points – so the winner gets 1.000 points at every 6star contest for example.

Points value breakdown example:
